Design/Maintenance Seminars Training seminars for technicians are much more involved, and may require between 6 and 16 hours, depending on the number of instrument types and applications involved. Training will include hands-on exercises with the instruments. Objectives of seminars for technical personnel are to ensure that the technician: Has a thorough understanding of the operating principles of the instrument(s) Is fully aware of the capabilities and limitations of the instrument(s) Understands the installation and process requirements of the instrument(s) Understands the configuration parameters of the instrument Understands the implications of each configuration setting Has the ability to configure the instrument, locally as well as through configuration software Understands the outputs and displays of the instrument, and how they relate to process conditions. Recognizes error messages and their meanings. Can perform basic maintenance functions. Optionally, can perform more advanced maintenance functions.
