Modbus TCP/RTU Datalogger
These easy-to-use dataloggers let you monitor up to 384 variables using Modbus RTU Master on RS-485 or Modbus TCP Master. Configuration is done through an intuitive web interface and all data is stored on an SD RAM drive. These logs can then be downloaded via MQTT, FTP or OPC UA depending on the model. There is also a model that has a built-in 4G modem for remote access. I’d like to discuss which model is right for our application.

Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU (RS-232 or RS-485) Bridge/Gateway (wired, wi-fi, radio)
If you are looking for an easy-to-use Bridge/Gateway, then this one is for you. All the setup is done via an intuitive web-interface. We offer three models; wired, wireless (WiFi), radio. The applications are endless.

Modbus TCP to HART, PROFIBUS DP, PROFIBUS PA Gateway
Thorsis Technologies makes an excellent gateway from Modbus TCP to HART, PROFIBUS DP and PROFIBUS PA depending on the modules selected. It comes with full DTM support and works well with PACTware. The gateway is DIN rail mountable and completely scalable. Have questions about this product?

Modbus Software – aMBition
This is a Modbus master by 4next that runs on a PC and will let you read and visualize Modbus variables.
Click here to download your free copy. The free copy will let you read and visualize Modbus Variables.
The Pro version will also let you log the data and view it in a graphical format. I’d like for more information and pricing for the Pro license.

Modbus RTU/TCP I/O Modules
If you are looking for cost-effective small I/O modules, then these modules from 4next are for you. Each one is a Modbus slave and can connect to a master either via TCP or RS-485. In addition, there is an optional WiFi or 868MHz radio interface available.
– NXT-M2 comes with 2 AI, 4 DI, 2 DO
– NXT-A4 comes with 4 AI, 4AO
– NXT-D16 comes with 16 DI and 16 DO
– All Analog inputs are configurable as either 0-10V, 4-20mA, PT100, PT1000, NTC, PTC, Thermcouples
– All Analog outputs are configurable as 0-10V or 4-20mA.

Modbus TCP I/O Rack – TB20
The TB20 distributed IO system, made by Helmholz, is a high-quality IO system with a wide range of modules that can fit into a wide range of applications. These cost-effective modules have a small footprint and are DIN rail mountable.

Modbus RTU/CAN I/O modules
These are remote I/O devices that can talk back to either a Modbus RTU master via RS-485 or a CANOPEN master via CAN bus.

Switches
For most Modbus TCP applications, an unmanaged switch works great. Helmholz makes 5, 8, and 16 port versions in both 100 Mbps and 1Gbps versions. They are made with German quality and North American ease of use. The switches have a small footprint taking up minimal panel space but with all the functionality you need.

Connectors
Helmholz makes easy to use industrially hardened RJ-45 connectors for both 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet. They come in 180, 90, and 145 degree angles for either Cat-5e or Cat-6 applications. I’d like more information.
